Becky's story became a call to action.
Rebecca “Becky” Dykes worked at the British Embassy in Beirut, supporting humanitarian and public service work across the region. Friends and colleagues remember her warmth, her curiosity about the places and people around her, and how naturally she made others feel included.
In December 2017, Rebecca was killed in Beirut. Her family and friends chose to answer that loss with action rather than silence.
Becky's mother, Jane Houng, and people who knew Rebecca's values built something in her name that could reach the next generation before harm happens. That became Becky's Button: prevention and early intervention, not only response.
